Cilex chosen to be the regional innovation hub in the Outaouais

Gatineau: August 16, 2018. – As part of the call for projects for the creation of Regional Innovation Hubs in Quebec, the Cilex initiative was selected within the Outaouais region.

Mrs. Maryse Gaudreault, Member of the National Assembly (MNA) for Hull, made the announcement today on behalf of Mr. Stéphane Billette, Quebec Minister for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Regulatory Relief and Regional Economic Development.

The selection committee assessed each of the applications received by ensuring that the eligibility criteria were respected and that there was consultation within the community. This independent committee was made up of representatives from the Government of Quebec, the entrepreneurial ecosystem as well as agents from the industrial innovation, regional economic development and financial sectors.

It should be reminded that the Regional Innovation Hubs will be focal points or convergence premises for entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation. They will have the mandate to boost up collaboration and consultation between the various socio-economic players. On the overall, the Government of Quebec will invest more than $32 million to support the creation and implementation of 18 Regional Innovation Hubs across Quebec as well as the establishment of a national network.
